Claude Monet was a French painter and one of the most important representatives of Impressionism.
Monet painted certain subjects at different times, with changing light and different weather conditions. Light and atmosphere became as important as the landscape itself. That's why we call Monet the painter of the changing moment.
In Giverny Monet built a garden of ponds that occupied him for decades. The many paintings with water lilies are all unique representations each at a different time and from a different point of view painted and executed on different formats. Same subject, but different every time...
